Cinderhill House

Cinderhill House is a lovely 14th Century House built into the hillside below St Briavels Castle with magnificent views over the Wye Valley to the Sugar Loaf Mountain and Brecon Beacons, but just 3 miles from Tintern Abbey in one direction and on the edge of the Forest of Dean on the other.

Wye Valley

The area of St Briavels is very beautiful and peaceful but with easy access to the M4, M5 and A40. Consequently, the airports of Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham are easily accessible as is Heathrow - 2 hours away and Gatwick 2 1/2 hours. Bristol mainline railway stations are 35 minutes away.

The village of St Briavels is very attractive with a Norman church and castle with a Georgian heart at the center, in which there are two pubs, both serving food.

Cinderhill House is a very special Bed and Breakfast, offering a great welcome, very comfortable accommodation and lovely food - mostly, locally sourced! Unfortunately we can no longer take children under 7.

The bedrooms all have queen or kingsized beds and excellent en suite bathrooms. prices start at £42.00 per night per person for bed and breakfast.

2 course dinner is £20.00; 3course is £25.00 (cheese course £4 extra) including tea or coffee and we are Licensed with an excellent wine list. Dinner is only available to guests who have pre-booked.

Lots to do in the area from walking and adventure sports on the local rivers and hills to touring the beautiful, historic countryside, with camera or brush!

We are listed in the Which? Guide to Good Hotels 2004 for the 8th year running, Which? Good B & B Guide, Karen Brown's Charming Bed & Breakfast Guide, and now Alastair Sawday's Special Places to Stay, British Bed and Breakfasts.
